The Clan MacNicol Gathering at Glen Innes was a most enjoyable time for all able to attend.

The weather was very kind, with mist in the morning for the Piper at dawn and nice warm days. There was a great MacNicol turn-out for the Street Parade, the General meeting, the most memorable ceremony for the unveiling of the stone from the ruins of Scorrybreac House on Skye, where our Chief explained we were originally mostly all “boat-people” having arrived from Scotland in the 1800’s by boat. There was the Kirkin’ service amongst the Standing Stones and the Vikings in camp, roasting whole lamb, whilst the knights jousted on their horses, along with all the Scottish stalls and Bands and Clans.

Many members visited from all areas, Queensland to Victoria and we attracted a lot of attention at our tent, we even had a new member join at the event. Members also attended some of the many events, dinners and functions held during the weekend. Some of us also managed to find one of the BEST ice-cream shops in NSW.  A great Clan gathering for 2010.
